Company Video — 50th Anniversary

MV Transportation
In its first 50 years, MV Transportation has grown from a one-van, two-driver company into a billion-dollar transit provider to hundreds of regional and municipal transit agencies.

It was my honor to produce, direct, and edit this documentary-style video to celebrate MV Transportation's 50th Anniversary.

A common element of my directorial style is to capture unscripted interviews with key players, then "find the story" via creative editing. This video features excerpts from long-form interviews with MV company founders Alex and Feysan Lodde.

MV Marketing Director Lea Campos worked with my chosen East Coast videographer to capture the interview with Alex Lodde. Together, Lea and I captured the West Coast interview with Feysan Lodde.

One of the core project challenges was working with a set of only 10 archival photos (and no archival video). I researched and found stock footage to help tell the story of the company's early years and rapid growth following the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1991. I also developed the concept of a photo album to display the available historic images alongside more recent photos.

The video was a huge hit at the company's 50th Anniversary event, telling MV's inspiring story from the founders' perspectives. Without a doubt, this is my favorite kind of legacy video!

My roles in the production:

Concept, interview questions, remote shoot screw, interview and direction, soundtrack (incl. music sourcing), b-roll selection, color-grading, editing and motion graphics.
